If you have not experienced either of these life events, then let me assure you that you will display more of your private emotions, good and bad, when buying or selling a home, and it is critical to have someone who is both competent and trustworthy, who has compassion and great business savvy to be your partner during the process. I use the term partner because the best individuals engaged in the business of real estate understand that collaboration with their clients coupled with the utmost professionalism in all actions, small and large, will build a lasting relationship. A home seller becomes a home purchaser, a client becomes a friend, and the relationship circle continues for every transaction, as that client will only rely on one real estate partner. We had an unusual home to sell and we loved it dearly. We thought the joy and memories that we had created there would transfer to any prospective buyer who walked through our doors. How could anyone not love it as much as we did, especially given its beauty and location in Westlake? Enter REALTORS one, two, three, and four…and no sale. Along the way, we met Eric Copper, but regretfully, we weren’t wise enough to hire him. However, when it came to choosing REALTOR five, that REALTOR was Eric. Within weeks (not months) we had a qualified offer and Eric worked diligently and professionally to make certain that offer became a sale. Eric then became our buying agent for our new home – and in the meantime was the REALTOR for our son’s purchase of his first home. I knew we would never use another REALTOR other than Eric when he quite honestly told me after viewing a home listing that I really liked, “If you buy this home, I won’t be able to list it for you when you decide to sell”.
